The developing economies are facing some serious socioeconomic issues like high level of fertility, low quality education, gender disparity and poor environment although mostly they are connected with economic resource problems. They are putting these economies in vicious traps of social, institutional and political and economic networks, which are operating at micro and macro level. At the national level there are a number of factors and implication of these issues along with the catalysts at the household level. Pakistan having some specific geostrategic, political and socio-religious characteristics is sticking with a variety of socioeconomic issues. The public sector has made rigorous efforts for elimination of these issues to enhance the welfare of the nation. To some extent it has gained success but still some of the issues are curbing the economy. In this book, some of the socioeconomic issues are focused in the perspective of empirical analysis at the micro level. It is attempted to see the women empowerment, malnutrition in children, maternal health, child labor and education, informal sector working women, domestic violence, and rural-urban migration under the empirical and analytical lens. The determinants of these socioeconomic indicators and their interaction has been empirical probed to reach some finding and policy proposals for declining the intensity of the problem. The work may be helpful for the academia, policy makers, and non-governmental institutions dealing with such type of issues.
